We made Bagels from scratch!
So I thought I would share with you how you to can do this your self!
First you will need:
4 1/4 to 4 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 package active dry yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Combine 2 cups of the flour and the yeast. Add warm water, 3 tablespoons of the sugar add 1 teaspoon of salt. Beat with electric mixer on low for 30 sec ( or in my case by hand because I don't have a mixer yet) scraping bowl constantly. Bat on high speed for 3 min. using a spoon , stir in as much of the remaining flour as you can.
Turn out onto lightly floured surface. Knead in enough remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough that is smooth and elastic (6 to 8 min total). Cover and let rest 10 min.
working quickly, divide dough into twelve portions. shape each portion into a smooth ball, put a hole in the center of the ball with a floured finger, pull dough gently to make about a 2 inch hole, keeping bagel uniformly shaped. place on greased pan for about 20 min covered to rise. start timing after first bagel is shaped!
Then broil bagels about 5 inches from the heat for 3 to 4 min, tuning only once(top should not brown).
Meanwhile, in a skillet or dutch oven bring 6 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of sugar to a boil. Reduce heat and then simmer the bagels you just broiled. 4 or 5 at a time, for about 7 min, turning only once. Drain on a paper towel, place the drained bagels on a well greased baking sheet.
bake in oven at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 min or until tops are golden brown!
ad there you have it BAGELS! these are not as sweet as the store bought ones but they are so good. my husband and kids loved them. We are going to try to add raisins and cinnamon, and also chocolate chips to some of our other batches! One batch makes 12 yummy bagels
Enjoy!

Fun with making food!
Ziploc Omelets This works great!!! Good for when you're alone or when all your family is together. The best feature is that no one has to wait for their special omelet. Have the guests write their name on a?Quart Size Ziploc Freezer Bag with a permanent marker.1. Crack 2 eggs into the quart size Ziploc bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them.2. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: Cheeses, Ham, Onions, Green Peppers, Tomatoes, Hash Browns, Salsa, Etc.3. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake the bag to mix them well.?4. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.
5. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for?exactly 13 minutes.?You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. If you have more omelets, make another pot of boiling water.?6. Cut the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed.
7. Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and it becomes a great conversation piece.?

The Great Picture Request!
We love going to the beach! we try to go once a week if not more! So here is a picture of My hubby Wayne, Myself and Coral, Coral makes a great cover up for not having much in the way of clothing on! :)
The next two pictures are of Coral and I reading a book together before bed. This one is in the dark with a flashlight for fun!
And this one is with the light on for a better picture. Coral loves to have a book read to her every night if possible. She is a very smart girl so it makes it fun to read to her! Notice her smile? If you ask her to give a cheese smile this is what you will get!
Ya know these pictures are reminding me that I am getting older fast! So I think that will be all for now!

Sarah's Got A New Bag!
I had so much fun making the bag for my friend last night that I had o make one for myself this morning. I was having a hard time sleeping so at 5 am this morning I was starting this new bag! It totally fits for where I live because the cream color print has pineapple on it and when I want to feel less Islandy I can turn it around to the blue tapestry side. This bag reminds me a little of Mary Poppins because it has the tapestry on one side that makes me think of a carpet bag! To bad I am not practically perfect in every way, but I do think this bag might be! With 5 pockets on the inside and one on the outside for a cell phone (Or vise versa) you can hold lots of stuff in a some what organized manner!
Well that's it for now!

I made this for a friend! And I love it!!
Yes I made it, and if I hadn't stared out making it for a friend I would so be keeping it! It is completely reversible and is made with corduroy on one side and cotton blend on the other, and then dressed up with metal handles! Did I say I love it? I only hope my friend likes it as much as I do and if not well I guess I will just have to keep it!

I like to make things!
Don't adjust your screen. They really are that color! I like bright things. The blue blanket I started when I first got pregnant and thought maybe it would be a boy, Then we found out it will be a girl so the pink and green blanket came next. My husband and girls all say that this one reminds them of a watermelon. Anyway, I am working on another one already, I have quite a few friend having babies at about the same time as am so I need to keep busy and hopefully be able to give each one a blanket for a gift.
What do you like to make?

Sewing Fun!
Now this here is quite the story! I was trying to follow a pattern that I saw on my friend Randi's blog that she got from another persons blogg. Anyway I tried to make it small enough for coral but ended up making it the size that would fit my baby not born yet! ANYWAY! With some time and frustration I made it long enough to fit Coral and I think it turned out really cute!
I think I finally have the sewing bug again. I tried to talk my older girls into letting me make them a skirt like this but they refused, ALOT!! But they did pick out another pattern for me to make for them, I think that I will just be adding some length and make the straps a little thicker or maybe alot of length and massive straps! I don't know we will see how it all turns out!

Growing up and also starting over!
I mean just a short time ago this was my first baby and now she is a beautiful young lady...
But in light of this we have been blessed with another "little" one, and although I still have some time with the "older" ones my job is not yet close to being done and with another one coming in January it gives my mommy heart much joy! So for now we are starting over with the things of "little ones" like potty training, I am hoping Coral will be trained before Chloe comes in January, so far it looks good. Coral is a Little more than half way there!
I SO ENJOY MY KIDS!!

Summer isn't really over, Is it?
Last week we went to the beach with some friends and the kids found a sand crab after digging a large hole in the sand. Here Courtney is holding that crab. Science right? so we did some school!
Here Candice and Kiana are sharing a tube on their way out to the water, this shows coordination, sharing and talent, I would call this social skills and physical education, Can I get some one to agree with me please? PLEASE!!
Here candice gives me a smile for a picture on the shoreline.
and here are Caitlin and Coral just being cute!
Now I need to tell you that at the beach that day we were told that a tiger shark was in the water in the shallows. He was probably looking for a turtle to eat. But we stayed mainly because the place we were at was coved in and there was no way for the shark to get to us! we had a great day and we spent lots of time with friends. my kids went home with the gift of a sun burn and so we used that to talk about the importance of reapplying sunblock!(more education!!)
I do love living in Hawaii and am looking forward to more educational days, even if it means hitting the books more!
